Tenants' Voice Improving Services update | December 2024

Our Tenants’ Voice – Improving Services group met in December. Here is a summary of what they talked about.

  • Community Safety: The tenants were updated on the positive changes from their 2023 review of the Community Safety Service. It's now easier to report anti-social behaviour, and the communications process is better. As a result, tenant satisfaction has improved.
  • Supported Living Service (RWP): The tenants learned more about RWP, which provides supported living for people with learning disabilities, autistic people, and those with mental health conditions. RWP supports 4,000 tenants, with services commissioned by local authorities or health bodies.
  • Complaints and Compliments: Tenants were informed about an external audit of the complaints and compliments process, aligning with their own upcoming review in January.
  • Social Housing Rent Policy: The tenants heard about a government consultation proposing a new rent policy for social housing. This policy would last 5 years and allow rents to increase by up to the Consumer Prices Index (CPI) plus 1% each year. The consultation closes on 23 December. • Updates on Reviews: Tenants received updates on various topics: out-of-hours repairs service, planned maintenance, communication, aids and adaptations, communal areas, and rent and service charge engagement.

Next Meeting: Wednesday, 5 March 2025, 1.30 PM, at Leyland House and on Microsoft Teams.
