Supporting charities through our Charity Fund 2023/24

Every year we help tenants and employees to raise money for charities through our Charity Fund.

Last year, tenants and colleagues raised a total of £12,762. We had 61 applicationsfor match funding of up to £1,000 and gave £11,813 to charities.  By matching the funds raised in this way, it means those charities got a whopping £24,993.

This included donating to Breast Cancer Now, Key Unlocking Futures, St Catherine’s Hospice, Cancer Research UK, Homeless Hounds, Fertility Network UK, British Heart Foundation, Derian House, Mind, St Ann’s Hospice, ABF – the Soldier Charity, Dance Syndrome, The Samaritans, Kids, National Autistic Society, New Day Church Food Bank, RNIB, Bliss, Baby Beat, Rosemere Cancer Foundation, Alzheimer’s Society, Focus, Royal Preston Hospital Critical Care Unit, North West Air Ambulance, Andy’s Man Club, Willow Green Project, Macmillan Cancer Support, Salvation Army, Huntington’s Disease Association (Merseyside) and Motor Neurone Disease Association.

How we are supporting charities this year

We usually try to give the amount raised by tenants and colleagues up to £1,000.  However, as part of our 30th anniversary celebrations we have increased the amount of money we can donate this year.  We have therefore removed the £1,000 maximum donation and will give the same amount of money raised until we reach our target of £30,000.

So, if you are taking part in any fundraising events over the next few months, whether that is a cake sale, sky dive, braving the shave or a sponsored walk, please don’t forget to submit an application to the Charity Fund.

If you would like and application form, or have any queries about the Groups Charity Fund please check out our website Funding for community groups and projects | Progress Housing Group (progressgroup.org.uk) or contact Customer Voice Team atcommunity@progressgroup.org.uk.
