Project SEARCH interns join tenants at Tuson House
Independent living tenants had a fantastic time teaching our Project SEARCH interns how to play dominoes and darts.
The interns joined tenants at Tuson House, in Penwortham, for an afternoon of games, pie and cake.
They placed bets during the table-top horse racing, before challenging each other to darts, pool and dominoes.
Tenants told us they had a great time meeting the interns and playing games.
Sheila said: “We came to socialise and enjoy the pie and peas.”
Myra added: “We have enjoyed the company. It is nice for us all to be together.”
Jean added: "It has been a good day. Everybody has enjoyed it.”
The Project SEARCH interns enjoyed competing against the tenants and learnt a lot during the day.
Gwen said: “I enjoyed winning at the horse racing. It has been really interesting to visit the scheme as my dad lives nearby. It has been nice to see the tenants too.”
Michael said: “It has been a very competitive day and lots of fun.”
Emily said: “I have enjoyed everything and it has been good to see what the scheme is like.”
Will Sutton, Course Leader - Supported Internship Programme at Runshaw College, said: “I want to express my thanks to all the Progress Housing Group tenants at Tuson House for their warm hospitality and for spending time with our Supported Internship learners.
We had an absolute blast playing fun games like darts, horse race bingo, and dominoes.
“These activities support our Duke of Edinburgh Award, and it's truly heart-warming to see the connections and laughter that were shared between our learners and the tenants. These interactions not only entertainment but also valuable social and communication skills.
Thank you, to the Progress Housing Group Customer Voice team for organising this brilliant event and creating such a wonderful experience.”
