New affordable homes being built in Burscough

New affordable homes are currently being built in Burscough, Ormskirk.

The new homes are being built by Anwyl Homes at Priory Gardens off Chancel Way, and are just a few minutes’ drive from the main high street in Burscough.

Each new home will have a garden, car parking space and access to electric car chargers.

The new homes will be part of the larger Yew Tree Park development, which will eventually comprise 580 homes, a care home, a community centre, and park land. There are also plans for retail and industrial units, including a soft play centre, and the new neighbourhood includes a potential school site.

When the site is complete, there will be 32 new homes for affordable rent, ten apartments, and 22 houses, eight of which will be available to buy through a shared ownership scheme.

Rebecca Field, Head of Development at Progress Housing Group, said: "We are building more new homes to help people find a well-built, comfortable, and sustainable place to live at an affordable price.

"Our affordable rent homes are set lower than market rent prices, and our shared ownership properties will provide opportunities for people to buy a property in stages, making it more affordable to get on the housing ladder.

"We look forward to welcoming our new tenants to Yew Tree Park very soon and wish them happiness in their new homes."

John Grime, managing director of Anwyl Homes Lancashire, said: “Anwyl is a thoughtful homebuilder, and as such, we’re proud to be working with Progress Housing Group to deliver affordable homes in Burscough as part of our Priory Gardens development at Yew Tree Park. Between us, we’re addressing local demand by providing high-quality homes for private sale, shared ownership and affordable rent.”

Once completed, each new home for rent will be advertised through Choice Based Lettings partner SelectMove - Low cost homes to rent

The shared ownership properties will be advertised through Rightmove, with more information available about the scheme available on our website here - Shared ownership homes available now
