Key Unlocking Futures to celebrate its 30th anniversary
Our charity partner Key Unlocking Futures is set to celebrate it's 30th anniversary
Our partner charity, Key Unlocking Futures which offers support to people who are homeless or facing homelessness in Lancashire is set to welcome former clients, volunteers, local dignitaries, and supporters at an event for its 30th-anniversary celebration.
Key Unlocking Futures will welcome around 100 people to the Civic Centre in Leyland on Thursday 17 October, to help mark its third decade of providing help, support, and advice to people facing homelessness and assisting people who need support to get back on their feet.
The event will look at the history of the charity, as well as play a short promotional film which has been made for the charity by Media Trust and commissioned by the Santander Foundation, as well as hearing people’s personal stories highlighting the charity's vital work. Colleagues past and present will also say a few words at the event about the charity's work over the last 30 years, which has helped over 33,000 people to date.
Event organiser, and the charity's Business Development Manager, Jayne Allison, said of the event: “It is going to be wonderful to see so many people gathering together to celebrate the great work that has been done by Key Unlocking Futures over the past 30 years. The positive impact that the charity has had on so many individual lives is unbelievable”.
Key Unlocking Futures is based in Balfour Court in Leyland and was initially formed in 1994 as a youth charity. Over time, the charity has evolved and now offers a range of support services to prevent homelessness; help people facing domestic abuse, support people with their mental health and wellbeing with a big focus on emotional and mental health and strengthen communities through their thriving community centre in Broadfield, Leyland.
In 2014, Key Unlocking Futures joined as a partner of Progress Housing Group to develop the services it offered, knowing that together both organisations would be able to support more people going through tough times.

Thursday 10th October is World Homeless Day. Key Unlocking Futures and Progress Housing Group are once again backing the campaign in calling for more support to help end homelessness for good.
Key Unlocking Futures Director Ursula Patten said:
"World Homelessness Day aims to draw attention to those who experience homelessness and push homelessness further up the political agenda. At Key Unlocking Futures and Progress Housing Group, we want to help people recover, cope and thrive by supporting them to find a place they can belong and call home. We hope that by supporting World Homelessness Day, together we can help raise awareness of the increasing rise in homelessness and the need for more affordable housing."
