Christmas with our independent living tenants

We love helping to make sure our independent living tenants enjoy a bit of festive magic.

We held 7 Christmas parties across our schemes in South Ribble and Fylde, which included a festive lunch, and invited tenants from nearby schemes to join in. The tenants enjoyed a quiz and bingo, with the main prize, a hamper, supplied by the Consortia Group.

We also organised our annual Christmas bash at St Gerard’s Parochial Club in Lostock Hall, where tenants paid a small fee for a 3-course meal and danced the afternoon away with a singer on stage.

Northeast Producers Travelling Theatre Company performed Oliver at Derby House, in Wesham, and Hennel House in Walton-le-Dale.

Interns from our Project SEARCH programme entertained tenants at Greenwood Court, in Leyland, with some Christmas carols. Tenants from nearby Bolton Croft also joined in the fun.

Our tenants have also organised their own events.

Linda organised a Christmas fair at Bolton Croft, in Leyland, raising £530 for Rosemere. She will be applying to the Group’s Charity Fund to make a donation to support her fundraising efforts.

Kath organised a festive lunch and arranged for a singer to attend at Wrightsfold, in Leyland.

Danni Shaw, Independent Living Activities Co-ordinator, said: “At this time of year, we want to help make sure that our older tenants don’t feel isolated and can still get involved in festive activities.

“Every year, we get great feedback from tenants telling us how much they have enjoyed our activities. We have enjoyed seeing the merriment in their faces and hope they all have a fantastic Christmas and New Year.”
