Soup Dragon's Den 2024 - applications open

The Soup Dragon is back in May for their first round of funding for 2024.  The event will be live and in the community for all to attend.

The application form and guidance notes are now available and applications for funding can be submitted from Tuesday 9 April until  Monday 29 April.

If you are involved in a local community project or group, why not apply for funding from the Soup Dragon.

Applications will be shortlisted by our Community Investment Fund working party, with the Soup Dragon event due to be held from 6pm on Thursday 16 May, at St Mary's Community Centre, Broadfield Walk, Broadfield Drive, Leyland PR25 1PD. The whole community is invited to attend the event and vote for the winner.

Community groups applying for funding through the Soup Dragon’s Den will need to meet the following criteria:

  • Progress Housing Group has properties in the project area
  • Customers of Progress Housing Group have the opportunity to benefit from the project
  • The project will have a positive effect on the community in general
  • There is a plan in place to ensure the future of the project after the Soup Dragon’s Den funding has been used.

The applicants selected to pitch at the event will be informed by Thursday, 9 May 2024. There is no need to book a seat for the event.

  1. Complete the Soup Dragon’s Den application form, giving as much information about the project as you can. 
  2. Forward the completed application to community@progressgroup.org.uk . We will look through the application form and contact you with any queries or for further information.
  3. All applications will go through a shortlisting process to select-up to 6 applicants to pitch at the Soup Dragon’s Den event.
  4. The Customer Voice Team will contact you to confirm if you have been shortlisted or not.
  5. Shortlisted applicants attend the Soup Dragon’s Den event to pitch their project.

Progress Housing Group reserves the right to publish information about donations made through the Soup Dragon’s Den in the Groups publications and local media.  This may include any photographs taken.  Any successful projects will therefore be asked to complete a consent form to give permission for photographs to be used.

The information in this form is collected by and for Progress Housing Group. We collect and manage your information in line with the current data protection legislation in the UK.

The data in the form will be used for the purpose(s) of:

  • Contacting you.

We will retain this contact against your Tenancy record if you are a tenant.

If you are not a tenant, we will retain your information for future reference as a record of this contact and to link it to any subsequent contact you make with us.

  • For application or prospective tenancy enquiries, this will be in relation to establishing a contract;

  • The lifetime of your relationship with the Group and for a period afterwards to allow the handling and raising of any queries or complaints.

  • Relevant teams across Progress Housing Group and potentially to our subsidiaries;
  • Contractors and suppliers;
  • Local authorities or councils;
  • Law enforcement;
  • Support agencies;
  • We need to contact other relevant third parties to resolve your enquiry.
